Two Trial Winners at NZB RTR Sale

29 October 2008

The trials at Cambridge last Friday produced another winner for New Zealand Bloodstock's Ready to Run Sale of 2YOs set to be held on 18 & 19 November at Karaka.

Lot 305, a Bertolini gelding, bred by Brian Stevenson of Auckland, from the Sir Tristram mare Amoroso ran impressively in a nine horse field to win by a length.

Former Rich Hill Stud shuttle-sire Bertolini is the sire of Group 1 Newmarket Cheveley Park Stakes winner Donna Blini plus the stakes-winners in New Zealand Solvini, Juice, All In Brawl and Xbert. In Hong Kong he has been well represented by the Group 3 Sha Tin Vase winner Medic Power.

Amaroso is from the Rory's Jester mare Clowning and is a half-sister to the stakes winning Danehill mare Chuckle. To date she has had three offspring to race for two winners. Her sire, the outstanding sire and broodmare sire, Sir Tristram, has 30 Group 1 winners to his name through his daughters.

Lot 305 breezed up at Te Rapa last week in a time of 11.62 over the final 200 metres of the straight and will be offered as part of Charisse Lodge's 15 strong draft.

He joins Lot 212, the Gold Mine gelding to be offered on account of Bremner Bloodstock as the second trial winner entered in November's Sale. Bred by Georgina Snelling, he won at Cambridge on 23 September, finishing five-lengths ahead of the six other juveniles in the 650 metre catchweight. Recording a 10.74 second breeze up, further appeal is added by his eligibility to compete for one of the 14 spots in the Karaka Million on 25 January.
