MRA Criteria for Registration of New Zealand and Australia Bred Horses

Before a horse is registered it must satisfy all registration requirements under the Association's Rules of Racing and Regulations, including the following criteria:

  1. An unraced horse must:
    1. Not be more than three years old at the time of arrival in Malaysia or Singapore
    2. Have been barrier tested

  2. A raced horse must:
    1. Not be more than five years old at the time of arrival in Malaysia or Singapore.
    2. Have qualified in a race run on the flat.
    3. New Zealand
      1. have won or been placed second or third in a race where the stake money is NZ$6,000 or more; or
      2. have won or been placed second, third or fourth in a graded, group or listed race.
    4. Australia
      1. have won or placed second, third or fourth in a race at a race meeting that has Metropolitan Status pursuant to the Australian Rules of Racing; or
      2. have won a race where the stake money is AUD6,000 or more; or
      3. have won or been placed second, third or fourth in a Graded, Group or Listed race.
