Global Exchange (Dundeel) won his second consecutive Group 2 race in Friday night’s A$200,000 Crown Resorts Alister Clark Stakes (2040m) at Moonee Valley, leading home a Karaka quinella in the three-year-old feature.

Bought for $130,000 at the 2017 Premier Sale, the Dundeel colt won three of his first five starts including the Group 2 Autumn Classic (1800m) at Caulfield on February 23.

On Friday night he took that record to four out of six, swooping four wide around the home turn and fighting off the $135,000 Premier Sale purchase Declarationofheart (Declaration of War) by a short half-head after a stirring battle down the straight.

"He's got a lovely temperament, he relaxes well and has got a good turn of foot to go with it,” jockey Ben Melham said.

“I had to make a longer run than I wanted but he just got stronger and stronger - he’s a good colt.”

Trained by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace for owners Mr S C Khaw, China Horse Club Racing Pty Ltd, Musk Creek Farm P/L, Mr G Pollio and Mr P S Zeccola, Global Exchange has now earned $273,550 in prizemoney – more than double his purchase price. He will now head to Sydney for a Group 1 Australian Derby (2400m) campaign.

Runner-up Declarationofheart has had eight starts for two wins and three placings, earning $115,150 in stakes so far.
