World-Class Quality from Ready to Run Sale Vendors

The number one Sale of its kind, NZB�s Ready to Run Sale of Two-Year-Olds is the unrefuted source of Stakes winners and performers purchased from 2YO Sales in Australasia.

Once again, professional vendors have outstanding drafts on offer at the 2019 Ready to Run Sale.

Riversley Park

In both 2017 and 2018, the title of leading vendor by aggregate went to Riversley Park. Established in only 2015 by Sam Beatson, the Ohaupo based operation already boasts stakes successes.

Mr Clint (NZ) (Power), who was a $95,000 purchase at the 2016 Sale, has won four races and more than S$1.27 million. His wins include the S$1 million Singapore Guineas (1600m), while he has placed in five stakes races including the S$1.35 million Singapore Gold Cup (2000m) and the S$1 million Singapore Derby (1800m).

Won Won Too (NZ) (Tavistock) was a $200,000 purchase at the 2016 Sale. His two wins include the A$150,000 Listed Galilee Series Final (2400m).

Fellow Riversley Ready to Run Sale graduates Notabadidea (NZ) (Highly Recommended) and Excalibur (NZ) (Tavistock) have both placed at stakes level.

Riversley Park will offer 35 horses during the 2019 Sale, including a half-brother to superstar Sacred Falls (NZ) (O�Reilly) (Lot 407), a grandson of a Melbourne Cup winner (Lot 9) and sons of siblings to elite Group One winner Lotteria (Lots 28 and 154).

Ohukia Lodge

Jamie Beatson operated Ohukia Lodge has rapidly become another prominent name among Ready to Run Sale vendor list.

Ohukia�s headline act has been Vin de Dance (NZ) (Roc de Cambes), who was bought for $70,000 at the 2016 Sale. He has won three races and more than $800,000, headed by the $1 million Group One New Zealand Derby (2400m) and the Listed Kaimai Stakes (2000m).

Ferrando (NZ) (Fast �n� Famous), secured for $40,000 at the 2015 Sale, has won eight races and more than $260,000. He has won at Group Three and Listed level, along with placings in the last two editions of the $250,000 Group One Telegraph (1200m) at Trentham.

The 2019 Ohukia Lodge offering comprises 36 horses, including a half-brother to Singapore star Debt Collector (NZ) (Thorn Park) (Lot 129), a close relative to the Hong Kong up-and-comer Regency Legend (NZ) (Pins) (Lot 302), a Tavistock grandson of a multiple Group One-winning Zabeel mare (Lot 121), and a son of a full-sister to multiple Group One winner Legs (NZ) (Pins), from an elite Waikato Stud family.

Diamond Lodge (2018)

Diamond Lodge has been leading vendor at the Ready to Run Sale in 2013 and 2015, and finished second in 2016 and 2017.

Four of their graduates have gone on to perform at the highest level. Mighty Solomon (NZ) (Darci Brahma), who was bought for $50,000 at the 2012 Sale, has won seven races and earned more than $239,000 with a placing in the Group One Thorndon Mile (1600m).

The following year, Sacred Master (NZ) (Mastercraftsman) and Dee I Cee (NZ) (Istidaad) sold for $65,000 and $7,000 respectively.

Sacred Master won seven races and almost $400,000 in stakes, winning the Group Two Avondale Cup (2400m) and Group Three Newcastle Cup (2200m) and placing in the Group One Auckland Cup (3200m).

Dee I Cee has earned more than $300,000 in a career headed by a Listed win in the Premier�s Cup (1900m) in Sydney and a placing in the Group One New Zealand Derby (2400m).

The current headline act among Diamond Lodge graduates is Mongolian Marshal (NZ) (High Chaparral), who was passed in at the 2016 Sale. He has won five races and almost $300,000, headed by the Group Three Waikato Cup (2400m). He placed in last month�s Group One Windsor Park Plate (1600m).

In 2019, Diamond Lodge will offer a select 10-horse draft, including a blue-blooded Pins filly (Lot 220), and a half-brother to a Caulfield Cup winner (Lot 287),

Kilgravin Lodge

Operating under the banner of Kilgravin Lodge, Eion and Megan Kemp are highly respected names on the Ready to Run Sale vendors� list.

Kilgravin�s honour roll of graduates is headed by Sangster (NZ) (Savabeel), who was a $19,000 purchase in 2010. He earned more than $1.6 million in a 29-start career, headed by Group One victories in the Victoria Derby (2500m), Waikato International Stakes (2000m) and Auckland Cup (3200m).

Xbox (NZ) (Niagara) was an $85,000 purchase in 2016 and won the $100,000 Group Two Waikato Guineas (2000m).

Bizzwinkle (NZ) (Rip Van Winkle), who won the $250,000 Group Three New Zealand Cup (3200m) last season, was passed in at the 2015 Sale with a $60,000 reserve.

Group Three Avondale Guineas (2100m) winner Valbuena (NZ) (Darci Brahma) was passed in at the 2011 Sale, while Listed winner Sunshine Kingdom (NZ) (Darci Brahma) sold for $24,000 out of the same draft.

The $60,000 purchase Luen on Treasure (Dane Shadow) has also been a winner at Listed level, while Shezathinka (So You Think) and Micken (NZ) (Darci Brahma) have been Group Two-placed.

Kilgravin will send 31 two-year-olds through the ring in their 2019 draft. Lot 73 is out of a half-sister to the multiple Group One winner Moment of Change (Barely a Moment), while other notable lots include a close relative to the recent Sydney stakes performers Stampede (High Chaparral) and Thinkin� Big (High Chaparral) (Lot 240), and a colt from the first crop of Vancouver, out of a three-quarter sister to the multiple Group One winner Road to Rock (Encosta de Lago), sire of Hong Kong Horse of the Year Beauty Generation (Lot 345).

Kiltannon Stables

Owned and operated by Mark and Lorraine Forbes, Kiltannon Stables made its Ready to Run Sale debut in 2014 and boasts its share of success stories.

The headline act is Countofmontecristo (NZ) (Echoes of Heaven), who was purchased for $57,500 at the 2015 Sale. He has won eight of his 24 starts and more than S$1.53 million, headed by victories in the S$250,000 Singapore 3YO Sprint (1200m), S$350,000 Singapore 3YO Classic (1400m), S$200,000 Jumbo Jet Trophy (1400m) and S$400,000 Merlion Trophy (1200m).

Mongolianconqueror (NZ) (Ocean Park) cost $130,000 at the 2016 Sale and has also been a multiple black-type performer, headed by a close second behind fellow Ready to Run Sale graduate Vin de Dance (NZ) (Roc de Cambes) in the $1 million Group One New Zealand Derby (2400m).

Kiltannon�s 2019 draft numbers 14 and features a number of well-related youngsters. Lot 85 is a half-brother to last season�s champion New Zealand two-year-old Yourdeel (NZ) (Dundeel), who won the Group One Sistema Stakes (1200m), Group One Manawatu Sires� Produce Stakes (1400m) and Group Three Matamata Slipper (1200m). Lot 298 is a half-brother to the multiple stakes winner and Melbourne Cup favourite Surprise Baby (NZ) (Shocking).

Lot 151 is out of a half-sister to the Group One winner and black-type producer Calveen (NZ) (Canny Lad), plus three other stakes winners. Lot 246 is out of a full-sister to the dual Group One winner Lizzie L�Amour (NZ) (Zabeel).

Phoenix Park

Janine Dunlop�s Phoenix Park is a respected name across all Sales at Karaka and boasts three Group One winners among its Ready to Run Sale graduates.

Able One (NZ) (Cape Cross) was bought for $270,000 at the 2004 Sale. He won 11 races and more than $5 million in a glittering Hong Kong career, headed by the Group One Hong Kong Mile (1600m) in 2011 and the Group One Champions Mile (1600m) in 2007 and 2010.

Marju Snip (NZ) (Marju) went through the same Sale and was bought for $110,000. She won six of her 13 starts, headed by the Group One Australasian Oaks (2020m) in Adelaide.

Phoenix Park�s 2007 Ready to Run Sale draft featured Rockdale (NZ) (Danroad), who sold for $135,000. His biggest win came later that same season in the Group One TJ Smith Classic (1600m) in Brisbane.

Other well-performed Phoenix Park graduates of the Ready to Run Sale include Group One placegetter St Fevre (Dehere) and stakes winners City Lad (NZ) (Elusive City), Elusive Catch (NZ) (Elusive City) and Bobo So Cute (Savabeel).

Phoenix Park will offer 14 two-year-olds at this year�s Sale, including Lot 124, who is the first foal of Group One winner Pondarosa Miss (NZ) (High Chaparral), also from the family of current star Ready to Run Sale graduate and multiple Group One placegetter Te Akau Shark (NZ) (Rip Van Winkle).

Lot 148 is a half-brother to the multiple stakes winner Countofmontecristo (NZ) (Echoes of Heaven), who also went through this Sale.

Lot 381 is out of a three-quarter sister to the two-time Group One Toorak Handicap (1600m) winner Solzhenitsyn (NZ) (St Petersburg).

Regal Farm

Shane Crawford and Kara Waters� Regal Farm has become a prolific source of big-race success from its Ready to Run Sale drafts.

At the 2013 Sale, they sold Mongolian Khan (Holy Roman Emperor) for $220,000. He became a two-time New Zealand Horse of the Year, winning the Group One New Zealand Derby (2400m), Australian Derby (2400m) and Caulfield Cup (2400m).

Other notable graduates include the Group Two winner and Group One Sydney Cup (3200m) placegetter Zacada (NZ) (Zabeel), Group Three winners Mongolian Wolf (Pluck), Vigor Winner (Declaration of War) and (Mr) Clarify (NZ) (Savabeel), and Listed winners Maybe Miami (NZ) (Iffraaj), Tyne Cot (NZ) (Keeper) and Illuminati (NZ) (Keeper).

They will present a draft of 21 horses in 2019.

Lot 3 is by Smart Missile out of a half-sister to Crowned Glory (Danehill), who won at Group Three level and placed in the Group One Golden Slipper (1200m). Crowned Glory is the dam of two stakes winners � Hallowed Crown (Street Sense), who won the Golden Rose (1400m) and Randwick Guineas (1600m) and is now at stud, and the Tasmanian stallion sensation Needs Further (Encosta de Lago), sire of top-class mare Mystic Journey.

An All Too Hard colt, who will go through the ring as Lot 201, is out of a half-sister to Group One Myer Classic (1600m) winner Hurtle Myrtle (Dane Shadow).

Lot 368 is by Toronado out of a stakes-performed Stravinsky mare, from the family of scintillating Sydney filly Libertini (I Am Invincible).

Westbury Stud

A firmly established and respected name in New Zealand breeding through its quality stallion roster and long line of successful graduates, Westbury Stud has also made its presence felt at the Ready to Run Sale.

Presenting a growing draft in recent seasons, Westbury�s Ready to Run offerings have included the Group Three winner Ho Ho Khan (NZ) (Makfi) and Listed winner Kante (NZ) (Postponed).

Westbury�s bumper 2019 draft of 35 two-year-olds includes Lot 202, whose dam is a half-sister to the Group One winner Aloha (Encosta de Lago), whose daughter Libertini (I Am Invincible) made a huge impression this spring with four consecutive wins including the Group Two Furious Stakes (1200m) and Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m).

Lot 119, from the first crop of Vancouver, comes from the family of quality racehorse and sire Thorn Park (Spinning World).

Woburn Farm

Adrian Stanley and Hannah Kettlety established Woburn Farm in 2012, with their Ready to Run alumni feature more than a dozen winners and the stakes-performed �clair Lightning (NZ) (Darci Brahma).

They will offer 32 horses at the 2019 Ready to Run Sale � their biggest-ever draft for this Sale.

Lot 275 is by Tavistock out of the Group One-winning champion New Zealand two-year-old Banchee (NZ) (Oratorio), while Lot 357 is out of a half-sister to the US Horse of the Year Havre de Grace (Saint Liam), who won three Grade One races.

Lot 86 is a half-brother to Cooga Doon (NZ) (Makfi), who won both of his New Zealand starts including a nine-length romp in the Listed Wanganui Guineas (1340m).

The draft also features a close relative of Group One winners Valley Girl (NZ) (Mastercraftsman) (Lot 219) and Awesome Rock (Fastnet Rock) (Lot 293).

Other quality horsemen and women preparing significant drafts for the 2019 Ready to Run Sale include�Dormello Stud, Michelle Norman and Dave Keenan�s Kilmore Farm, Prima Park managed by Kelly, Leighton and Louise Van Dyk, Ross McKay�s Leanach Lodge, Chad Ormsby�s Riverrock Farm, and well-known stud farms Trelawney Stud, Valachi Downs and Wellfield Lodge.

The 2019 Ready to Run Sale will be held at Karaka on 20 and 21 November, with a high-quality catalogue of 414 two-year-olds to go under the hammer.
