A broad range of buyers were active at the Sale with horses destined for Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Singapore, Macau, China, Thailand and Malaysia.

Wednesday, Nov 7, 2018Karaka graduate Kaonic (NZ) (Savabeel) scored a black-type win on Australian racing’s biggest stage on Tuesday, taking out the A$150,000 Listed Furphy Plate (1800m) on Melbourne Cup day at Flemington.
Ridden by Hong Kong-based jockey Zac Purton, the four-year-old stalked the leaders into the straight and surged to the lead inside the last 200 metres.

This week, 397 youngsters breezed down the home straight at Te Rapa Racecourse with their last 200 metres of work filmed and timed – and once again NZB's Ready to Run Sale vendors have delivered a high caliber preparation of the Lots to be offered at the Sale in November.
All Breeze Up videos are now available online. Recorded in high definition, the quality will automatically scale based on your internet connection and device. The video clips can also be downloaded from Vimeo or viewed in ‘Couch Mode’ which plays all clips from start to finish.

Yesterday’s track conditions started as a Slow 7 and during the day was upgraded to a Dead 6 while heats 105 to 210 galloped on an improved Dead 5 track today.

Track conditions were recorded as a Slow 7 in the morning and as the day progressed it was upgraded to a Dead 6 from Heat 31 onwards.

Friday, Oct 12, 2018Breeze Ups for New Zealand Bloodstock’s Ready to Run Sale of Two-Year-Olds will take place next week on Monday 15 and Tuesday 16 October with each day commencing at 10am.

Held at Te Rapa Racecourse over two days, there will be 210 heats filmed and timed from the 200 metre mark to the winning post.
Video clips of the Breeze Ups will be made available for viewing on the NZB website by Friday 19 October.

Fourteen years have passed since Darci Brahma (NZ) (Danehill) himself went through the sale ring, topping the 2004 Premier Sale with a price tag of $1.1 million. Retired to The Oaks Stud in 2007, he has been named the Champion Sire in Singapore five times including the last three years in succession. Also the Leading New Zealand Sire of 3YOs in 2015-16, Darci Brahma has sired eight Group One winners in New Zealand, Hong Kong and Australia in the last five seasons. In total, he sired 34 individual stakes winners in those five seasons with a 9% stakes winners to winners ratio.
