Big Easy Singapore Horse of the Year

Karaka graduate, Big Easy (NZ) (Spinning World x Nicole's Niner), has highlighted the enormous success of New Zealand bred horses in Singapore over the past year, receiving the highest accolade of the season, the title of 2005 Singapore Horse of the Year.

Trained by newly crowned 2005 Singapore Champion Trainer, Laurie Laxon, Big Easy has four feature race wins to his credit, including the Singapore Gr.1 Raffles Hotels and Resorts Cup, and three Singapore Group 3 events: the Singapore 3YO Challenge, the Singapore Guineas and the Three Rings Trophy. Throughout his 22 career starts, the consistent four year old has recorded nine wins, only finishing past fourth on three ocassions. 

Big Easy was bred by Mr & Mrs John Mugavin and sold by Waikato Stud at the 2003 Premier Sale for NZ$35,000.  He has returned his connections in excess of NZ$700,000.
