Bragato Gets His Black-Type

The Richard Joostens trained Bragato notched up his first black-type victory over the weekend with a good win in the Listed AG Challenge Stakes (1600m) at Wanganui on Saturday.
Well rated by jockey Michael Coleman, with the heavy weight of 59 kilograms, Bragato (Brilliance x Yarra Rose) was stoked up at the 700 metres and brought around the field on the home corner. Too strong in the straight, the six-year-old kicked away to hold off Yeshi Shinko (Shinko King) and Spare A Fortune (Spartacus) to win by two-and-a-half lengths.
The win was Bragato's sixth from 39 appearances, and has taken his stakes earnings to over $88,000.
Bragato was offered by Grangewilliam Stud at the 2006 Karaka Festival Sale.
