Breeze Up Footage Now Available to View Online

The highly anticipated Breeze Up videos  for NZB’s 2026 Ready to Run Sale are now available to view online at nzb.co.nz. 

On Monday 12 and Tuesday 13 October, almost 390 well-educated two-year-olds galloped down the home straight of Te Rapa Racecourse on the same turf surface, with each horse having the last 200 metres of their work individually timed. 

The first day of Breeze Ups (Monday) saw 191 two-year-olds gallop with an average time of 10.75 recorded. An overcast morning was followed by fine weather throughout the afternoon, with wind gusts up to 4.1km/h. The track was a SOFT 5 throughout. 

The second day of Breeze Ups (Tuesday) saw 198 two-year-olds gallop. The rail was moved in five metres overnight, with windier conditions of up to 5.2km/h headwinds and spontaneous showers throughout the day. The track remained a SOFT 5 rating and the average time recorded for the day was 11.02. 

The overall average time across the two days combined is 10.89. 

All videos and times are now available to view for each lot on nzb.co.nz alongside the weather conditions, time and day the breeze up took place, average time for that day, and wind experienced during each lot’s gallop. 

Each video is recorded in high definition, the quality will automatically scale based on your internet connection and device. They can be downloaded by clicking the 'Share' icon in the top right corner, following the Vimeo link and selecting the size video you'd like to download. 

Breeze Ups will also be broadcast lot-by-lot on Trackside in New Zealand with the program scheduling to come, and on Racing.com in Australia on Tuesday 20 & Tuesday 27 October at 4:30am AEDT. 

This year’s Ready to Run Sale will see a quality line up of 460 catalogued two-year-olds go under the hammer from 11am on 18 and 19 November at the Karaka Sales Centre.
