Day Two Wraps Up 2026 Breeze Ups

13 October 2026

The final day of NZB’s 2026 Ready to Run Sale Breeze Ups saw a further 198 two-year-olds gallop down the home straight at Te Rapa Racecourse on Tuesday.

Lot 357 on account of KB Bloodstock.

The rail was moved in five metres overnight, with windier conditions of up to 5.2km/h headwinds and spontaneous showers throughout the day. The track remained a Soft 5 rating and the average time recorded for the day was 11.02.

NZB’s Managing Director Andrew Seabrook is pleased with how the two days at Te Rapa have played out.

“Every year our vendors and preparers present well-educated two-year-olds for the breeze ups and, once again, the professionalism and quality that has been on display across the past two days is a credit to these exceptional horsemen and women.”

“I think it’s important for buyers to keep in mind when assessing the times, that the head wind was significantly stronger on Tuesday and to make allowance for that.”

“We’re looking forward to getting this superb group of horses up to Karaka for the Sale and welcoming our clients from all over the world,” added Seabrook.

KB Bloodstock’s Kit Brooks prepared 24 two-year-olds to breeze up.

“I’m pleased with the draft we’re presenting this year and the way they’ve performed so professionally across the past two days.”

“Heat 110 (Lot 357 and Lot 353) breezed up very well but I did expect them to, they’re a nice pair of colts and it’s good to see them live up to expectations.”

“We can’t wait to present them all up at Karaka next month.”

Lot 132 on account of Ohukia Lodge

Ohukia Lodge’s Chanel Beatson is also delighted with this year’s offering.

“It’s a beautiful draft of horses across the board and that All Too Hard (Lot 132) is an outstanding colt, I can’t sing his praises enough.”

“We have a good range of horses and there’s definitely a horse for everyone.”

The official 200m Breeze Up time for each lot can be found on NZB’s website alongside the weather conditions, track rating, day and time the breeze up took place, and wind speed experienced during each lot’s gallop.

The Breeze Up footage will be available to view on NZB’s website by Friday 16 October, followed by the full program aired on Trackside in New Zealand and Racing.com Australia.
