2011 Karaka Premier Sale: 31 January & 1 February

The Karaka Premier Sale has experienced an outstanding season with twelve graduates capturing Group 1 races in Australasia and Asia.

Among these distinguished Premier Sale graduates are 2009/10 NZB Filly of the Year Katie Lee who took out the Group 1 New Zealand One Thousand Guineas and Two Thousand Guineas, while two-year-old performer Banchee (Diamond S.) and mile specialist Wall Street (Thorndon Mile) also claimed Group 1 honours.

Premier Sale graduates performing in Australia were Group 1 winners So You think (WS Cox P.), Rangirangdoo (Doncaster H), Efficient (Turnbull S), Jessicabeel (Sydney Cup), Allez Wonder (Toorak H.) and Zabrasive (Rosehill Guineas). Flying the flag for the Premier Sale in the Asian region were Green Birdie (Krisflyer International Sprint), Better Than Ever (Singapore Guineas) and Waikato (Kranji Mile).

With this session being the only premier yearling session in Australasia to post an increase to its sale average in 2010, it pays to place your blueblood stock at the Karaka Premier Sale.

Beauty Flash (Mercedes-Benz Hong Kong Classic Mile), Able One (HKJC Champions Mile), Ekstreme (Captain Cook S.), Mufhasa (Otaki Maori WFA S.) and middle distance performer Veloce Bella (International S.) also scored at the elite level, while Tavistock (Mudgway Partsworld S. and Waikato Draught Sprint) and Vonusti (Telegraph H.) both sprinted to Group 1 success.

In 2010 the Karaka Select Sale posted bigger gains than any single other sales session in Australasia and NZB took more bookings from overseas buyers for this end of the week than ever before.
