Karaka Million Entries Close Today

3 March 2008

Premier, Select and Festival Sale graduates of the 2008 National Yearling Sales have just a few more hours to secure their chance to compete in the $1.2 million Karaka Million Series, with entries closing today at 5pm.

For a single entry fee of $1750 plus GST, horses will be entitled to compete for two dedicated incentive races: the one million dollar Karaka Million for two-year-olds in 2009, and the $200,000 Karaka 3YO mile in 2010.

This year's inaugural Karaka Million Twilight Meeting at the Auckland Racing Club's Ellerslie racecourse was the perfect start to an outstanding week of selling at Karaka 2008. The million dollar feature was hotly contested, with Vincent Mangano (No Excuse Needed - Rationable) securing the spoils for Matamata trainer Peter McKay and owners Peter & Kim McKay and Trevor Luke.

Graduates of New Zealand Bloodstock's Carnival Yearling Sale this Friday at Karaka will also be eligible to enter, with a nomination deadline of 4 April 2008.
