La Sizeranne Inches Closer To Series Lead

La Sizeranne stormed home to take the fourth race in the New Zealand Bloodstock Filly of the Year Series, the Listed Goldstar Soliloquy Stakes (1400),�on Saturday.

Roger James trained filly La Sizeranne (Stravinsky x Tricia Ann) had looked impressive in the last two legs of the Filly of the Year Series, both times running second to Series leader, Justa Tad (Istidaad x Infinity). So it was no surprise when she started a $3.15 favourite, and after an outstanding run finally kicked a comfortable one and a quarter lengths clear of Spin 'N Grin (Spinning World x Smile) to claim easy victory.� The John Wheeler trained Volk Dancer (Volkraad x Kape Dancer) finished three lengths back in third place.

The win secured La Sizeranne an extra four points in the Series and put her within striking distance of Justa Tad. Spin 'N Grin and Volk Dancer received their first points on the table. The current standings for the Series are:
