Last Chance to Enter NZB’s Winter Sale

This week is the last chance to enter horses in New Zealand Bloodstock’s Winter Mixed Bloodstock Sale on Friday 31 July, with entries for the supplementary catalogue closing at the end of business tomorrow (Friday 24 July).

The Sale has 73 horses already catalogued consisting of broodmares, weanlings, yearlings, two-year-old’s, unraced stock, racehorses and stallion shares.

Catalogued in the broodmare section are four stakes performing mares, including Group 2 winner Mistrale (Lot 10), and three mares that have already produced stakes performing progeny, including the dam of this season’s Group 1 Oaks winner, Savaria (Lot 27).

There have been a number of updates since the catalogue went to print, including two horses in the racehorse section that have won races in the last month, Bettorock (Fastnet Rock) and Miss Lightning (NZ) (Falkirk). To view all pedigree updates, click here.

The annual Karaka Stallion Parade, held prior to the commencement of NZB’s Winter Sale, has a recent addition with Mapperley Stud’s freshman sire Atlante to attend the parade with barn mate He’s Remarkable. Other stallions to parade at Karaka are Ferlax, Niagara, Burgundy, El Roca, Proisir and Little Wonder. The updated list of stallions in parade order with the location they are stabled can be viewed online.

The Karaka Stallion Parade will be captured on film this year, with the footage of each individual stallion available to the studmasters upon request. This new service, provided for free, is a great opportunity to receive some quality footage for studs to use as and when they require.
