The well-related Celebrity Dream (NZ) (Thorn Park) was a $260,000 purchase at Karaka and is quickly living up to that on the racetrack.

Making the 13th start of her career in Saturday’s $100,000 Listed Crown Perth Jungle Mist Classic (1200m) at Ascot, she produced a top-class performance to record her sixth victory and her first at stakes level.

Ridden by William Pike for trainer Adam Durrant and Western Australia’s biggest owner Bob Peters, the five-year-old mare overcame a wide draw to win the sprint feature by a comfortable length and a half.

Her 13 starts have now produced six wins, four placings and A$240,750 in prize-money, with the promise of much more still to come.

Bred by Garry Cranny, Frantic Bloodstock Ltd and Haunui Bloodstock Ltd, Celebrity Dream is a daughter of the Red Ransom mare Valpolicella (NZ), winner of three races including the Group 3 Manawatu Classic and Listed Champagne Stakes.

Valpolicella is the dam of four foals to race, three of them winners and now three of them stakes winners. Vavasour (NZ) (Redoute’s Choice) won the Group 2 Sir Tristram Fillies’ Classic, Group 3 Counties Cup and Group 3 Waikato Cup, while Vilanova (NZ) (Commands) won the Group 2 Autumn Classic, Group 3 Grand Prix, Listed Tattersalls Club Cup and Listed Star Way Stakes.

Celebrity Dream was offered at the 2014 Premier Sale by Haunui Farm, where she was bought by John Chalmers Bloodstock for $260,000.
