NZB 'Born to Run' this Weekend on Trackside

8 May 2009

Trackside's weekly breeding show, Born to Run, sponsored by New Zealand Bloodstock, each week gives an insight into the wonderful world of New Zealand thoroughbred breeding.

This week on Born to Run:

A spur of the moment decision to purchase a cheap yearling filly at Karaka has taken west Auckland couple Gary and Lynn Witters on a ride they will never forget.

That filly became Foreign Copy, who never raced but became a remarkable success story as a broodmare, and led the Witters to breeding champion filly Samantha Miss, who was last month sold for A$3.85 million at a Sydney broodmare sale.

The Witters tell their story this week on Born To Run, the first screening at 7.30am on Saturday (channel 35 for Sky digital subscribers).

Other features this week on Born To Run include a profile on Little Avondale Stud stallion Towkay. The equine health segment is on branding and this week's Dunstan Feeds horse of the week will also be revealed.

Born To Run is replayed throughout the week on Trackside. Check out http://www.tab.co.nz/ for screening times.
