NZB Graduates Win In Hong Kong

NZB graduates once again performed with distinction at Sha Tin at the weekend.

The half brother to Lot 467 at Karaka, who is being offered by Lyndhurst Farm in the 2005 Premier Sale, stormed to victory in the Class 3 Panva Gas Handicap 1000m at Sha Tin at the weekend.

Firm Offer (Fasliyev x Initial Offer) was sold at the 2003 Premier Yearling Sale where he was purchased for $35,000 by Joe Barnes of J & I Bloodstock. Lot 467 is bay colt by hot young sire Stravinsky. His dam, Initial Offering, has left two winners from two foals to race.

New Zealand Bloodstock graduates picked up another two events in Hong Kong. Bountiful (Mellifont x Her Excellency), who was sold by Paramount Lodge at the 2000 Select Festival Sale, won the Class 4 Sinolink Garden Handicap over 1800 metres. He was purchased from the sale by Trevor McKee for $24,000.

Being Famous (Gold Brose x Chester Square) won the Class 3 Sinolink Real Estate Number One Handicap. Being Famous was sold at the 2002 Select Colts Sale by Grangewilliam Stud. Robbie Hewetson purchased the colt for $32,500.

Back in New Zealand, 2000 Ready To Run Sale graduate Tantalic (Rhythm x Taupey Girl) won the Group 3 Manawatu Cup beating Asgoodas and Normandy Boy. Tantalic was sold at the sale by David Ellis' Te Akau Stud for $5,000. He was purchased by Auckland owner Brian Disley. Fourth in the race was Upsetthym (Rhythm x Set Up), winner of the Gr.1 Auckland Cup, who has a half sister by O'Reilly in Lot 136 at the Karaka Premier Sale.
