While versatility and preparation in the thoroughbred industry is at its peak, New Zealand Bloodstock is pleased to announce the development of a new, robust online bidding platform specifically developed for the future of their thoroughbred and standardbred auction sales.

After introducing market-leading technology into the digital auction-sphere four years ago via popular online subsidiary gavelhouse.com, NZB has now been able to adapt the technology to be used extensively during their upcoming physical sales.

The development of the advanced bidding module is underway and will be tested extensively prior to debuting at NZB’s Ready to Run Sale of Two Year Old’s in November.

Bloodstock Sales Manager Danny Rolston is pleased with how the development is shaping up.

“With the upgrade to ultra-fast fibre at Karaka, we are now in the position to offer online bidding services for registered buyers who are unable to physically attend our auctions.

“We have been running a strong online bidding platform for years with gavelhouse.com and this extension will be no different.

“We know this platform is robust and it’s going to be really easy to use for customers, during what is a critical time due to the global pandemic.

Features have been carefully thought out to assist potential buyers and we are excited for its debut at the Ready to Run Sale,” Rolston said.

Potential travel restrictions enforced by COVID-19 means that international buyers will be able to participate in user-friendly online bidding during the Ready to Run Sale.

The platform will also become a viable option for virtual bidders purchasing at NZB’s impending auctions.

While NZB sales are already broadcast live via their website, social media platforms and relevant television channels, the strong network infrastructure implemented at the Karaka Sales Centre will mean that buyers logged in from around the world will not miss out on the best yearlings, two-year-olds and mixed stock the Southern Hemisphere has to offer.

More details about the new online bidding platform’s functionality and how to register will be made available to buyers in due course.

This year’s Ready to Run Sale will be held at Karaka on 18 and 19 November, with Breeze Ups conducted at Te Rapa Racecourse on 12 and 13 October. The catalogue will be out mid-September.
