Quality Selection at NZB National Broodmare Sale

9 July 2007

There's just under a fortnight to go until nearly300 lots are set to go under the hammer at New Zealand Bloodstock's National Broodmare & Mixed Bloodstock Sale on Sunday 22 July.

The bumper one-day Sale features broodmares (234), weanlings (15), yearlings (15), two-year-olds (4), unraced horses (12), racehorses (15) and stallion shares (3).

Making up the bulk of the catalogue is the broodmare section which displays no shortage of quality with a Group 1 winner, eight daughters of Group 1 winners and 19 half or full siblings to Group 1 winners featuredamongst the selection.

Marketing Manager Petrea Vela said the company is very pleased with this year's offering. "There's a renewed confidence in our industry and breeders have responded by entering several quality mares which will provide some fantastic buying opportunities. There's a broad selection of broodmare sires and covering sires represented which should hold widespread appeal, and with record sales receipts earlier in the year, combined with the more favourable tax environment and increases in prize money, there has never been a better time to invest in the industry."
