Karaka Ready to Run sale-topper Able One is back in the winners circle for the first time since his Group 1 Champions Milevictory last year, with a three-length win in the Group 3 feature at Sha Tin on Sunday.Able One Premier Cup HKJC

The five-year-old gelding by Cape Cross, from the unraced Danehill mare Gardenia, was having his 20th start in Hong Kong for trainer John Moore, when he cruised for his sixth career win under the guidance of Zac Purton in the HK G.3 Premier Cup (1400m).

Fellow Karaka graduate My Choice (Volksraad x Chianina) -a NZ$68,000 Select Sale yearling and subsequently passed in at the 2002 Ready to Run Sale - completed a Kiwi quinella by finishing in second place for trainer David Hall.

Bred by Sir Patrick and Justine,LadyHogan, Able One (pictured) was sold at Karaka as a yearling before being offered at the Ready to Run Sale by Janine Dunlop's Phoenix Park in 2004. There he was purchased by local bloodstock agent Paul Beamish for NZ$270,000, the top price that year.

Able One is the second stakeswinner for Gardenia, the other being full brother Florilegium. Their yearling half-brother by Stravinsky was purchased by the Hong Kong Jockey Club at Karakathis January for NZ$325,000 and is destined for the Hong Kong International Sale in December.

Able One joins an impressive list of horses from New Zealand Bloodstock's Ready to Run Sale thatincludes four Group 1 winners this season alone: Rockdale, Eskimo Queen, Pasta Post and Mr Baritone.
