So You Think (NZ) NSW Middle Distance Horse of the Year
12 August 2011
The globetrotting New Zealand bred galloper So You Think has claimed his first major award for the 2010/11 season last night when crowned the New Zealand Bloodstock NSW Middle Distance Horse of the Year.
With New Zealand Bloodstock sponsoring the award, it seems appropriate that a graduate of the famed Karaka sales ring should take the honours on New South Wales' premier annual awards evening.
So You Think (NZ) romps home in the Group 1 Yalumba Stakes |
His four Group 1 wins and his brave third in the Melbourne Cup saw him rated the equal World Champion Intermediate (Middle Distance) Turf Performer of the World alongside Rip Van Winkle, and the World Champion Stayer.
The four-year-old has since taken a further two Group 1 races since his move to Aidan O'Brien's stable in Ireland's Group 1 Tattersall's Gold Cup and England's prestigious Group 1 Coral-Eclipse Stakes.
So You Think's next target will be the Group 1 Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown on September 3.
