So You Think (NZ) Ranked Fifth in the World

1 April 2011

The accolades continue to flow for the superstar So You Think (NZ) with the former Bart Cummings trained champion rated the fifth highest horse in the world by the International Federation of Horse Racing Authorities.

The rating puts So You Think (NZ) (High Chaparral x Triassic) in front of the US wonder mare Zenyatta (Street Cry), triple Breeders Cup Mile winner Goldikova (Anabaa) and Eclipse Stakes winner Twice Over (Observatory). The rating is also the highest ever awarded to a New Zealand bred thoroughbred since the ratings began in 2004.

So You Think

Alot has unfolded in the dizzying story of So You Think since his brave Melbourne Cup placing. Coming from a debut win at Rosehill in 2009, to a dual Cox Plate winner and earner of over A$5.6 million in 12 starts in 2010, the son of the boom sire High Chaparral has found himself in Ireland, racing in the famous Coolmore colours.

Now trained by Aidan O'Brien at the revered Ballydoyle Stables, the same stable that trained his sire to win an amazing six Group 1 titles, he will take on the world's best in an effort to secure his place as one of the true greats of the turf.

Aidan O'Brien has expressed his excitement over So You Think, commenting that he looks an unbelievable horse, and is looking to the Group 1 Lockinge Stakes (1600m) at Newbury on May 14 to launch his Northern Hemisphere assault.

So You Think was crowned the World Champion Stayer, and joint World Champion Intermediate (Middle Distance) Turf Performer, alongside the Irish star Rip Van Winkle, in 2010.
