SOLILOQUY SECOND RACE IN FILLY SERIES

7 October 2005

The second race of the ten-race New Zealand Bloodstock Filly of the Year Series is the Listed Leila MacDonald Soliloquy Stakes (1400m) at Ellerslie tomorrow.

Looking to extend her lead in the Series will be current leader, Howmuchyacharging (Howbaddouwantit x Fairdale Lass) currently with six points. Three-time Filly of the Year Series winning trainer, Murray Baker, confirms that Howmuchyacharging has improved since her decisive win in the Group 3 Highview Stakes at Hastings last month. Second and third place holders, Crepe De Chine (Pins x Gio) and City Affair (City On A Hill x Royal Pay), are also set to add to their respective 3 and 1.5 point tallies.

In addition to Crepe De Chine (to be ridden by Vinny Colgan), the O'Sullivan stable has two other runners lining up in tomorrow's eleven filly race with Tsarina Belle (Stravinsky x Empress Belle), ridden by Leith Innes, and Hpnotiq (Pins x Invincible), ridden by Cameron Lammas. Tsarina Belle produced some credible performances last season including a second placing behind the impressive Bob Emery owned, Crusoe (Volksraad x Caserio) in the Listed Champagne Stakes and is a maiden winner this season. Lance O'Sullivan has all three fillies nominated for the New Zealand Bloodstock One Thousand Guineas next month.

Also starting tomorrow is Group 3 ARC Westbury Stakes winner, Pulcinella (Stravinsky x Shall We Dance). She showed promise last year with a host of respectable performances with Saturday's run being her second this time in. Entered in the 2006 Karaka Premier Yearling Sale is a half sister to Pulcinella by Cape Cross.

The sire of last year's Series winner Justa Tad, Istidaad has his first runner in this year's Series lining up tomorrow with Ististar (Istidaad x Marlanda Star). Trained at Takanini by the McKees, Ististar is owned by the Fun All Round Syndicate and won her last start at Ellerslie in the ARC Sopranos Maiden 1400m.

Vegas Showgirl (Al Akbar x Vegas Magic) and Echo Maid (Made Of Gold x Echo Beach), both unplaced in the Highview Stakes, will be waging their second attempt at getting points on the board.

Other runners in tomorrow's race are Southern Gal (Stark South x Al be Nif) and Falrain (Faltaat x Cry Rain).
