Superstar So You Think Makes It Three G1s

Sensational kiwi galloper So You Think has demonstrated yet again that he is in a class of his own as he cruised to victory in the Group 1 MRC Yalumba Stakes (2000m) at Caulfield on Saturday.

In a breathtaking performance that saw him dominate the strong field the handsome son of High Chaparral lived up to his looks, running another flawless race that he never looked likely to lose.

In what was his third Group 1 victory, So You Think jumped well and travelled comfortably throughout the race. Positioned in second place behind pace-setter Red Ruler,�he was asked by jockey Steven Arnold on the bend and, within a matter of strides, the exceptional young stallion had kicked clear of the field by three lengths coming onto the straight.

The Bart Cummings trained star crossed the line three-and-a-quarter lengths ahead of Alcopop, who put in a strong run, with Whobegotyou a length-and-a-half further back for third.

This scintillating performance brings So You Think's season tally to a perfect three wins from three starts after he came back from a nine month break due to a throat operation in November. This victory over 2000 metres indicates that last year's Cox Plate hero is well prepared to defend his title in less than a fortnight and the bookies concur with So You Think favourite to win.

The four year-old has won six of nine starts earning $2,774,050 in prizemoney during his brief career to date.

A $110,000 purchase for DGR Thoroughbreds from Windsor Park Stud at the 2008 Karaka Premier Yearling Sale, So You Think is raced by long time Cummings client and friend Dato Tan Chin Nam in partnership with Tunku Ahmad Yahaya.

Regular rider Arnold has declared So You Think the best horse that he has ever ridden,

Bred by hobby breeder Cecile Smith in partnership with Windsor Park Stud's Mike Moran, So You Think is the seventh living foal of Group 2 winner Triassic.

Outstanding sire High Chaparral had another winner on Saturday with his four-year-old daughter, and 2008 Karaka Select Sale graduate, Top Spot (ex Turtle Beach) taking out the Collegians Handicap (1600m) at Illawarra.

With almost all of High Chaparral's small crop of yearlings nominated for Karaka 2011 the Sales Series promises to be an exciting prospect for buyers searching for talent that has the class of So You Think.
