Speedy Ruakaka filly Prom Queen (NZ) (Super Easy) scored a blistering win in Saturday’s $50,000 Listed Barneswood Farm Welcome Stakes (1000m) at Riccarton, a result with significance for a couple of upcoming Sales at Karaka.

Trained by Kenny and Lisa Rae and new training partner Krystal Williams Tuhoro, Prom Queen produced a powerful turn of foot in the straight to leave her rivals in her dust. She kept a clear advantage to the line to score by a length and three-quarters. She is now unbeaten in two trials and two race appearances.

Prom Queen became the first stakes winner for exciting young Hallmark Stud stallion Super Easy (NZ) (Darci Brahma). Super Easy has nine two-year-old catalogued for next week’s Ready to Run Sale, and is sure to have healthy representation at the National Yearling Sales Series in the new year.
