Unforgotten Too Strong in Phar Lap

Premier Sale graduate Unforgotten (Fastnet Rock) delivered a powerful come-from-behind performance to win Saturday’s A$200,000 Group 2 Phar Lap Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill.

Ridden by Jason Collett for fellow expat New Zealander Chris Waller, the three-year-old stormed home to score by a short head.

It was Unforgotten’s fourth win from seven career starts, boosting her prizemoney earnings to A$307,020 for owners Waller, Magic Bloodstock Racing, Mr F W Cook, Mrs C M Cook, Mr N A Greenhalgh, Mrs M T Greenhalgh, Mr R Shrimpton, Mrs C Shrimpton, Mr I Bruce, Mr R Smith, Mr P Y W Ng, Mr K H Warriner, Mr J T C Lake and Mr B L Mathieson.

“She’s won a good race,” Waller said. “We rode her quiet and let her finish off, that's how she won her races in the summer, where she was starting to build that reputation.”

Unforgotten was offered by Curraghmore at the 2016 Premier Sale at Karaka, where Chris Waller bought him for $360,000.
