Waikato Stud Yearling Clips Now Online

24 December 2010

Video clips of 27 yearlings from Waikato Stud's Karaka Premier Sale draft are now online.

Earlier this year Garry & Mark Chittick's Waikato Stud was the third leading vendor by aggregate at the 2010 Karaka Yearling Sales, with their 56 yearlings selling for over $5.3 million.

Previous graduates of Waikato Stud's Karaka yearling draft include Group 1 winners Alamosa, Markus Maximus and Swick.

This year the Stud is represented by 38 Premier Sale lots and 25 Select Sale lots.

Waikato Stud stallions had a strong 2009/2010 season with O'Reilly in the top 10 General Sires List in Hong Kong, Singapore (current 2010 season), Macau and New Zealand.

Fellow resident sire Pins remains in third position on the 2010 Singapore General Sires Table and was second only to the Champion Sire Volksraad on the 2009/2010 New Zealand Sires Premiership.

Waikato Stud 's up-and-coming son of Zabeel, Savabeel, has also been represented by some recent good performers with his stakes winning son Kudakulari and Digital Fortress both running well in Australia in the three-year-old spring features, and his daughter Lady Kipling running a good third to We Can Say It Now in the Group 1 Levin Classic.

Joining them on the Waikato Stud roster are Fast n Famous, No Excuse Needed, Scaredee Cat and the newest addition, Rios.

Included in Waikato Stud's 2011 Premier Sale draft are:

Lot 6, the O'Reilly colt from Rationable, a full brother to Group 2 winners Vigor and Joey Massino and a half-brother to the Karaka Million winner Vincent Mangano (No Excuse Needed).

Lot 235, the colt by Savabeel from Chorus, a half-sister to the two-year-old Group 1 winner Good Faith, the dam of Group 3 winner Tully Dane and stakes placed Mygoodgrace.
