Greg has been involved in the thoroughbred industry since 1988, and has been with New Zealand Bloodstock Ltd since 1999. Born in Taranaki, Greg spent four years with the New Zealand Racing Conference in Wellington (now NZ Thoroughbred Racing) and was on the committee of both the Waipa and Alexandra Racing Clubs whilst working for the Richard Otto Racing Stables in Te Awamutu. Greg worked part time at the NZB yearling sales for a number of years before joining full time.
With his farming/horse background, together with his experience working in the Stud Book and Racing Registration Departments in Wellington and his time spent on various racing committees, Greg brings a wide and detailed knowledge of the racing industry to the Airfreight Department.

Airfreight Operations (Auckland) Trans-Tasman & Hong Kong Sharon McDowell Mobile: 0274 781 017
Sharon has had a long association with the thoroughbred industry and is well known and respected in the racing industry. Early in her career she worked for White Robe Lodge before shifting north and enjoying a position in the racing office at the Auckland Racing Club for twelve years. She started with NZB in 2000.
In the Airfreight team, Sharon looks after the Trans-Tasman and Hong Kong sectors. From her work at the Auckland Racing Club, Sharon has built a valuable rapport with owners & trainers and has developed an excellent knowledge of the GST, Customs and Bond issues involved in transferring horses between New Zealand and Australia.

Airfreight Operations (Auckland) Asia, UK, USA Kane Jones Mobile: 027 2744 985
Kane was born in Taranaki and attended Hawera High School. In 2009 he completed a science degree at Massey University. Kane has grown up with horses and has had a passionate interest in thoroughbred racing from a young age. Before joining New Zealand Bloodstock in November 2009, Kane gained valuable experience working at Cambridge Stud. Kane is an enthusiastic owner and has already experienced success with accomplished sprinter Alpha Pukeko.
Kane looks after the Asian Sector including Singapore, Malaysia, Korea and Macau. He also arranges all Northern Hemisphere airfreight.

Airfreight Operations (Auckland) Customs Brent Perry Mobile: 021 850 633
Brent joined New Zealand Bloodstock five-and-a-half years ago after being self-employed. He initially joined us in our Insurance Department before moving to the Air Freight Department in September 2012.
Interested in racing from a young age, Brent has been an owner/breeder for 12 years and has enjoyed racing 7 individual winners including Cheshire, the first horse he was involved in, who was stakes and Group 1 placed.
Brent coordinates our Trans-Tasman/International customs requirement and acts as a support member to the other members of the Airfreight Department.

Airfreight Operations (Sydney) Phil Rees Mobile: +61 (0) 418 245 488
Phil joined the company in early 2003. Born in Wales, Phil has also spent considerable time working in the thoroughbred industry both internationally, where he worked at Whitsbury Manor Stud and Side Hill Stud in the UK, and more locally at Milluna Stud in Australia. He immigrated to New Zealand in 1990 where he spent a number of years working for Haunui/Ra Ora Farm before transferring to NZB's Sydney office.
Phil looks after the Trans-Tasman sector and liases very closely with our Auckland team. He also has extensive knowledge of racing and breeding, both internationally and locally, along with animal husbandry and horse skills acquired through his years in the breeding industry.

Originally from Perth, Western Australia, Josh is the newest recruit to NZB. He has spent over 10 years in the thoroughbred industry and has gained experience working with thoroughbreds in Australia, NZ, England and Germany.
Josh looks after the Asia route and is happy to discuss transport options to/from the eastern seaboard of Australia with any potential client.
