Freshman Sires to Shine at NZB Ready to Run Sale

Sires with their eldest Australasian crop in the Sale include All Too Hard, Americain, Animal Kingdom, Azamour, Bullet Train, Burgundy, Crowded House, Dalakhani, Delago Deluxe, Excelebration, He’s Remarkable, Highly Recommended, Lucas Cranach, Niagara, Ocean Park, Pierro, Power, Reliable Man, Rock ‘N’ Pop, Super Easy and Your Song.

All Too Hard (Casino Prince x Helsinge, by Desert Sun)

Four-time Group 1 winner All Too Hard is a half-brother to the undefeated champion sprinter Black Caviar (Bel Esprit). Standing at Vinery Stud.

Four two-year olds by All Too Hard will be offered at the Sale including Lot 161, a half-brother to Group 1 winner Ruud Awakening (Bernardini).

Americain (Dynaformer x America, by Arazi)

Globe-trotting galloper Americain won 11 races including a famous victory in the 2010 Melbourne Cup. He stands at Swettenham Stud.

Americain has two sons catalogued in the Ready to Run Sale – Lot 205 is out of the Redoute’s Choice mare Fair Choice, and Lot 251 is out of the Octagonal mare Half Eight.

Animal Kingdom (Leroidesanimaux x Dalicia, by Acatenango)

Animal Kingdom’s exceptional racing career included victories in two of the world’s most famous races, the Kentucky Derby and the Dubai World Cup. He shuttles to Arrowfield Stud.

There are two entries by Animal Kingdom catalogued including Lot 279, a filly out of the multiple stakes-winning and Group 1-placed mare Johan’s Toy (Johan Cruyff). She is already the dam of two winners including Group 2 winner Toydini (Bernardini).

Azamour (Night Shift x Asmara, by Lear Fan)

Group 1 winner Azamour is already an established sire in the Northern Hemisphere with 33 stakes winners including Group 1 winners Dolniya, Covert Love and Valyra. He shuttled to Brighthill Farm for one season before his untimely death.

Seven members of Azamour’s only Southern Hemisphere crop will be sold at the Ready to Run Sale including the progeny of stakes-winning dams Art Beat (NZ) (Captain Rio, Lot 60), Country Rose (NZ) (Centaine, Lot 146) and Sydney Cup heroine Honor Babe (NZ) (Honor Grades, Lot 264).

Bullet Train (Sadler’s Wells x Kind, by Danehill)

A Group 3 winner and Group 1-placed, Bullet Train is a three-quarter brother to the legendary Frankel (Galileo). He shuttles to Bowness Stud.

Bullet Train has one entry in the Sale, Lot 66 – a half-brother to the Group 3-placed Inauguration (Authorized).

Burgundy (Redoute’s Choice x Grand Echezeaux, by Zabeel)

A half-brother to the five-time Group 1 winner and leading sire Darci Brahma (NZ) (Danehill), Burgundy was a quality galloper in his own right with five stakes wins. Standing at Cambridge Stud.

Burgundy has six of his progeny entered in the Sale including Lot 546, a half-brother to Group 2 winner La Sizeranne (NZ) (Stravinsky) and close relative to this year’s Australian Derby winner Tavago (NZ) (Tavistock).

Crowded House (Rainbow Quest x Wiener Wald, by Woodman)

Crowded House was a Group 1 winner of the Doncaster Racing Post Trophy and is a full-brother to the stakes winner On Reflection. He shuttled to Wattle Grove Stud.

One two-year-old in the catalogue is by Crowded House, Lot 206 – out of the six-race winning Val Royal mare Falvette.

Dalakhani (Darshaan x Daltawa, by Miswaki)

The Aga Khan’s Dalakhani won the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe and is a half-brother to the champion mare Daylami (Doyoun) and the exciting young Brighthill Farm stallion Dalghar (Anabaa). He is already proven in the Northern Hemisphere with 48 stakes winners including the multiple Group 1 winner Conduit. Shuttling to Cornerstone Stud since 2013.

Dalakhani has one entry in the Sale, Lot 502 – out of the stakes-placed mare Sobraine (Favorite Trick). She is already the dam of Singapore stakes performer Boomarang Deluxe (Dane Shadow).

Delago Deluxe (Encosta de Lago x Succeeding, by Flying Spur)

South Africa’s Champion Two-Year-Old Colt in 2010-11, Delago Deluxe won seven races including the Scottsville Golden Horse Casino Sprint and the Gold Medallion. He is out of a half-sister to the Group 1 winner Duporth (Red Ransom). Standing at Newhaven Park Stud.

One two-year-old in the catalogue is by Delago Deluxe, Lot 197 – out of a half-sister to the stakes winner Easy Game (Var).

Excelebration (Exceed And Excel x Sun Shower, by Indian Ridge)

A son of Australia’s dominant sire of two-year-olds so far this season in Exceed and Excel, Excelebration won eight races including the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes. He has sired two stakes performers so far in the Northern Hemisphere. Shuttling to Coolmore Australia.

Three two-year-olds by Excelebration will be offered at the Ready to Run Sale including Lot 396, a half-brother to this season’s stakes-performed Australian three-year-old Wazzenme (Wanted).

He’s Remarkable (Pentire x Axiom, by Zabeel)

A full-brother to last season’s Champion New Zealand Three-Year-Old Xtravagant, He’s Remarkable was a Group 3 winner in his own right and a multiple Group 1 placegetter. Standing at Mapperley Stud.

He’s Remarkable has six of his progeny entered in the Sale including Lot 225, out of the stakes-winning mare French Flute (Jugah).

Highly Recommended (Fastnet Rock x Suggestive, by Al Hareb)

A full-brother to stakes winner Undeniably and half-brother to three stakes winners, Highly Recommended was a black-type performer himself and won the Group 2 Alister Clark Stakes. Standing at Berkley Stud.

Highly Recommended has four two-year-olds in the catalogue including Lot 500, out of the stakes-winning mare Snaabelle (Snaadee) and Lot 344 is a half-brother to Maybe Miami, the 2016 winner of the Coupland's Bakeries Mile Prelude.

Waldorf, a son of Highly Recommended, claimed his first win of the season on 6 October at Wairarapa and puts some early runs on the board for the promising stallion.

Lucas Cranach (Mamool x Lots of Love, by Java Gold)

A son of a stakes-winning mare, Lucas Cranach was a Group 2 winner in Germany and Australia. Standing at Bullarook Park Stud.

Lucas Cranach has one entry in the Sale, Lot 59 – out of a half-sister to stakes winners Along All (Mill Reef) and Arnaqueur (Miswaki). The second dam is the champion All Along, who won five Group 1 races including the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.

Niagara (Encosta de Lago x River Song, by Fusaichi Pegasus)

A close relative to superstars Redoute’s Choice (Danehill) and Manhattan Rain (Encosta de Lago), Niagara was a Group 2 winner in the Ajax Stakes. Entered stud at Lime Country Thoroughbreds in 2013 and now stands at The Oaks Stud.

Niagara has 14 two-year-olds catalogued for the Sale including Lot 276, out of the stakes-winning mare Italian Princess (NZ) (Bertolini).

Ocean Park (Thorn Park x Sayyida, by Zabeel)

New Zealand’s Horse of the Year in 2012-13, Ocean Park won five Group 1s including the Cox Plate. Standing at Waikato Stud.

The catalogue features 15 sons or daughters of Ocean Park including Lot 224, a half-brother to the Group 1 winner I Do (NZ) (No Excuse Needed).

Pierro (Lonhro x Miss Right Note, by Daylami)

Pierro won Australia’s two-year-old Triple Crown, the Group 1 Golden Slipper, Sires’ Produce Stakes and Champagne Stakes. He was Champion Two-Year-Old in 2011-12. Standing at Coolmore Australia.

Five progeny of Pierro feature in the Ready to Run catalogue including Lot 544, out of the stakes-winning mare Tingirana (Generous).

Power (Oasis Dream x Frappe, by Inchinor)

Winner of the Group 1 Irish 2000 Guineas and Curragh National Stakes, Power has already made a big impact. His yearlings sold up to $600,000 at Karaka earlier this year, he has sired more than a dozen winners in the Northern Hemisphere and his daughter Gift Of Power (NZ) won New Zealand’s first two-year-old race of the season. Shuttling to Cambridge Stud.

Power is the sire of eight two-year-olds at the Sale including Lot 295, out of a half-sister to Group 1 winners St Reims (NZ) (Zabeel) and Champagne (NZ) (Zabeel).

Reliable Man (Dalakhani x On Fair Stage, by Sadler’s Wells)

A half-brother to two stakes winners, Reliable Man was a Group 1 winner in France and Australia. His progeny have proven popular at yearling sales in New Zealand and Australia, selling up to $340,000. Shuttling to Westbury Stud.

This year’s Sale features 10 two-year-olds by Reliable Man including Lot 179, a half-sister to the multiple Group 1 winner MacO’Reilly (NZ) (O’Reilly).

Rock ‘N’ Pop (Fastnet Rock x Popsy, by Sir Tristram)

By the champion sire Fastnet Rock out of New Zealand Derby winner Popsy (NZ), Rock ‘N’ Pop lived up to his pedigree with a scintillating victory in the Group 1 New Zealand 2000 Guineas. He also placed in the Group 1 International Stakes and New Zealand Derby. Standing at Waikato Stud.

Rock ‘N’ Pop is the sire of 12 two-year-olds in the Ready to Run Sale catalogue including Lot 273 [JG1] , a half-brother to the Group 1 winner Irish Fling (NZ) (Darci Brahma).

Super Easy (Darci Brahma x Parfore, by Gold Brose)

Singapore’s Horse of the Year in 2012, Super Easy won 15 races including the Sgp-1 Singapore Guineas and Lion City Cup. He is a half-brother to Group 1 winners Terravista (Captain Rio) and Tiger Tees (NZ) (Dubawi). Standing at Hallmark Stud.

Super Easy will be represented by 10 two-year-olds in the Ready to Run Sale including Lot 192, out of a half-sister to Brisbane Cup winner Tullamore (NZ) (Savabeel).

Your Song (Fastnet Rock x Zembu, by Fuji Kiseki)

Your Song is a Group 1 winner of the BTC Cup. Standing at Widden Stud.

Two progeny of Your Song feature in this year’s catalogue including Lot 473, out of the stakes-winning mare Shalt Not (St Covet).

The 2016 NZB Ready to Run Sale catalogue has attracted 552 two-year-olds.

Every horse entered in the Sale has the opportunity to Breeze Up with the last 200m of their work filmed and timed. Breeze-Ups are set to be conducted at Te Rapa Racecourse on 17 & 18 October.
