MRA Criteria for Registration of New Zealand and Australian Bred Horses
Before a horse is registered it must satisfy all registration requirements under the Association's Rules of Racing and Regulations, including the following criteria:
An unraced horse must:
- Not be more than three years old at the time of arrival in Malaysia or Singapore
- Have been barrier tested
A raced horse must:
- Not be more than five years old at the time of arrival in Malaysia or Singapore.
- Have qualified in a race run on the flat.
New Zealand
- have won or been placed second or third in a race where the stake money is NZ$6,000 or more; or
- have won or been placed second, third or fourth in a graded, group or listed race.
Australia
- have won or placed second, third or fourth in a race at a race meeting that has Metropolitan Status pursuant to the Australian Rules of Racing; or
- have won a race where the stake money is AUD6,000 or more; or
- have won or been placed second, third or fourth in a Graded, Group or Listed race.
