Classy sprinting mare Indecision (NZ) (Per Incanto) collected her second black-type win with a dominant front-running performance in the $50,000 Listed Legacy Lodge Sprint (1200m) at Te Rapa on Saturday.

The $260,000 Premier Sale purchase won the Listed NZB Finance Sprint (1200m) at Hastings in April, and she was beaten by a nose when second in the Group 3 Sweynesse Stakes (1215m) at Rotorua last month.

On Saturday she never gave her rivals a look-in. Rider Leith Innes sent the five-year-old straight to the lead, and she produced a decisive turn of foot in the straight to kick clear and win by a length and three-quarters.

“She’s come back much stronger this season,” trainer Tony Pike said. “She’s always been thereabouts. This season she’s improved so much and she’s holding her form consistently.

“I thought she got the win at Rotorua last time, but she just missed that day. Her work since then has been first-class, and she’s a mare who’s certainly heading the right way. It was a handy enough sprint field today and she’s done it well.”

Raced by S L Malcolm, Mrs C N and Ms J Taylor, Faith Taylor, Brent and Cherry Taylor, Indecision has now had 20 starts for five wins, six placings and $115,275 in prize-money.

Indecision was bred by Little Avondale Trust and Mrs N K Smyth and was offered in Little Avondale’s draft at the 2015 Premier Sale.
