Heading the field is Kainui Belle (Kashani x Lady Ukiah) who currently leads the Filly of the Year points table with 25 points, one point ahead of Taatletail (Faltaat x Defensive Lady) who will not compete in Saturdays race.
Trained by Vanessa and Wayne Hillis, Kainui Belle was second at her last start in the Gr.2 New Zealand Bloodstock Royal Stakes (2000m), behind the Paul O'Sullivan trained Buckle My Shoe (Rory's Jester x Rose of Marizza) who will also run on Saturday and is currently third on the Filly of the Year points table with 8 points.
Other smart fillies in the field who have already acquired points in the New Zealand Bloodstock Filly of the Year Series include Eftee One (Volksraad x Bashful Lady) with 6 points and Wharite Princess (His Royal Highness x Regal Visit) with 1.5 points.
