The son of Montjeu took out the race with a textbook swing-and-go, tracking pacemaker Time Keeper (Stravinsky x Organdy) throughout before kicking into the straight with surge of speed that gave him a lead he never looked like relinquishing. Ridden by Michael Coleman, Wall Street crossed the line three-quarters-of-a-length ahead of Fritzy Boy (Brilliance x Fritzy Girl) and Keep the Peace (Keeper x Peace of Mind) finished a half-length behind for third.

Saturday was Wall Street's second start for the season with the six-year-old coming home second to Keep the Peace in the opening leg of the Hawke's Bay Triple Crown Series, the Group 1 Mudgway Partsworld Stakes (1400m), in his previous outing.

After an outstanding five-year-old season in which Wall Street claimed three black type wins, including the Group 1 $200,000 WRC Thorndon Mile (1600m), the Jeff Lynds trained gelding looks set for another strong year with the big Melbourne races now a consideration.

Out of Villa Wanda (Grand Lodge), Wall Street was purchased by Paul Moroney Bloodstock at the 2006 Premier Yearling Sale from Te Mania Thoroughbreds for $100,000, he now has $471,662 in stakes earnings to his name.

A half-brother to Wall Street is nominated for the National Yearling Sales Series at Karaka in January. By Spartacus, the chestnut colt is offered as one of 16 yearlings in the draft of Kevin Hickman's Matamata-based stud, Valachi Downs.

The National Yearling Sales Series runs from 31 January - 7 February 2011 with catalogues out 26 November.
