Entries are now open for New Zealand Bloodstock's 2011 South Island Sale of Two-Year-Olds & Mixed Bloodstock which features the inaugural NZB Southern Bonus Race for graduates of the two-year-old session.

Scheduled to be held on 12 August in Christchurch this year, the South Island Sale has a new incentive race in which its graduates can battle it out for a bonus of $50,000.

All two-year-old graduates of the Sale are eligible to enter for the 2012 Southern Bonus Race which will be an open three-year-old event over 1400 metres at the Canterbury Jockey Club's Riccarton Park racecourse on Wednesday 14 November 2012.

For an entry fee of $250 plus GST, eligible sale graduates will have preference in field selection over non-qualified horses, with the $50,000 bonus awarded to the first NZB Southern Bonus Race eligible graduate to cross the finish line.

With the owner, trainer and vendor all getting a slice of the pie, of the $50,000 bonus $40,000 will be awarded to the owners of the horse on raceday, $5,000 to the trainer, and $5,000 to the owner of the horse at the time of sale.

Entry Fees for the South Island Sale are $700 plus GST for Two-Year-Olds and $400 plus GST for Mixed Bloodstock. Entries close Monday 16 May 2011.
