NZB Launches World’s Leading 2YO Sale Catalogue
6 September 2021
Another high-quality catalogue has been assembled for the 2021 edition of New Zealand Bloodstock’s renowned Ready to Run Sale held at Karaka in November.
View the catalogue online here.
From Hong Kong headliners Golden Sixty (Medaglia d’Oro) and Beat the Clock (Hinchinbrook) to Caulfield Cup (2400m) and dual Derby hero Mongolian Khan (Holy Roman Emperor), plus other trans-Tasman Group One stars such as Turn Me Loose (NZ) (Iffraaj), Gingernuts (NZ) (Iffraaj) and Te Akau Shark (NZ) (Rip Van Winkle), the Sale boasts an international honour roll unrivalled by any other two-year-old sale on the planet.
- In the last six seasons alone, NZB's Ready to Run graduates have claimed 20 Group One titles, compared with just five Group One wins for both Australian two-year-old sales combined, and 11 Group One wins for all combined Northern Hemisphere Breeze Up graduates.
- Graduates of the last six editions of NZB’s Ready to Run Sale have earned on average an astounding 59% more prizemoney than Australian two-year-old sale graduates combined.
- New Zealand Bloodstock has produced the highest ratio of winners to runners of any two-year-sale in Australasia in the past six years.
Those outstanding successes and statistics are a hard act to follow, but the class of 2021 are being given a perfect preparation under the watchful eye of highly respected kiwi horsemen and women.
Now available to view online, the 2021 Ready to Run Sale catalogue features a well-credentialled selection of 322 two-year-olds to be sold at the Karaka Sales Centre on 17 and 18 November.
There are 83 different sires represented, from established stars such as Savabeel, Tavistock (NZ), Per Incanto, Ocean Park (NZ), Iffraaj, Darci Brahma (NZ), Exceed and Excel, Not A Single Doubt, Pierro and Sebring, to Northern Hemisphere superstars American Pharoah and Frankel, and exciting stallion prospects like Almanzor, Belardo, Satono Aladdin and Time Test.
Quality bloodlines can be found throughout the catalogue, with 23 half or full-siblings to stakes winners set to go under the hammer, including Group One stars such as Savvy Coup (NZ) (Savabeel) and this year’s Queensland Derby (2400m) hero Kukeracha (NZ) (Night of Thunder).
Another benefit of the Ready to Run Sale is the opportunity to secure lots that are eligible for several bonus schemes including the Karaka Million Series where there are 29 eligible horses. In addition, there are five fillies nominated for the Pearl Series, 53 BOBS eligible horses, eight Super VOBIS nominated horses and two VOBIS Sires eligible two-year-olds and one QTIS qualified juvenile.
For the second year, buyers who are unable to physically attend the 2021 Ready to Run Sale will be able to participate via NZB’s user-friendly online bidding platform.
New Zealand-based agents are also available to complete inspections on behalf of international buyers at the Breeze Ups, on farm parades and at the sale complex.
With significant importance placed on Breeze Up footage for buyers, NZB will again be offering extended Breeze Up clips including additional footage prior to the 200 metre mark, with the last 200 metres of their work also filmed and timed. Breeze Ups will be held at Te Rapa Racecourse on 11 and 12 October.
