Pencarrow Stud Offers Blue-Blood Draft

Pencarrow Stud's yearlings for New Zealand Bloodstock's 2012 National Yearling Sales Series have been filmed and are now available to be viewed online.

Pencarrow Stud has been the leading vendor by average at the Premier Sale three times since 2006 and has sold a number of high profile horses through the Karaka sale ring, headlined by multiple Group 1 winner and sire, the $1.1 million yearling Darci Brahma (Danehill). 

A promising young sire, Darci Brahma currently leads the 3YO New Zealand Sires' Premiership by winners with nine and has sired three stakes winners including Group 3 winner and Group 1 placed Darci be Good, Listed Bonecrusher Stakes winner Artistic and Singapore Superstar Super Easy.

Other recent stakes winners sold by Pencarrow Stud through the Karaka sale ring include Group 2 Rich Hill Mile winner Fears Nothing (Faltaat), Group 2 Matamata Breeders' Stakes winner Te Akau Coup (Thorn Park), Group 3 Carlyon Cup winner Lord Pyrus (Pyrus), Welcome Stakes winner Encosta Diablo (Encosta de Lago), Debonair Stakes winner Spacecraft (Galileo) and the current three-year-old stakes winner Burgundy (Redoute's Choice).

Pencarrow Stud have a draft of 24 yearlings in the 2012 National Yearling Sales Series, 22 in Premier and 2 in Select, and will be offering a quartet of fillies in their Premier Sale draft.

"Every four or five years we offer fillies and this year we will be offering four," commented Stud Manager Leon Casey.

"There is a Fastnet Rock filly out of Love Connection who is a Sunday Silence mare and an O'Reilly filly from Beyond the Sunset and they are both lovely types."

Pencarrow Stud will offer 18 colts in the Premier Sale by a host of leading sires including Australia's champion sire Encosta de Lago, the sire of 86 stakes winners - 19 at Group 1 level.

"We have a lovely colt by Encosta de Lago from Miss Scarlatti who was a stakes winner and placed in the Wakeful Stakes and the VRC Oaks. We also have a Danehill Dancer colt out of Anatomy who is another good type."

With progeny by 12 leading sires from New Zealand and Australia, including Pentire and Pins and first season sires Alamosa and Sakhee's Secret, highlights from the Pencarrow Stud draft include:

Lot 92, the colt by Darci Brahma from the Centaine mare Boito Belle, a half-sister to Winning Belle (Zabeel) and Our Ella Belle (Encosta de Lago) and from the famous Belle family. 

Lot 279, the half-brother by O'Reilly to the Group 3 Darley Plate winner Amaryllis (Red Ransom) from the Group 2 winning Zabeel mare Lafleur, a descendant of the mighty Eight Carat family.

Lot 511, the colt by Stravinsky from Group 1 placed Uberalles (Giant's Causeway), a daughter of the four-time Group 1 winner Ethereal (Rhythm), a member of the famous Pencarrow family which includes Darci Brahma, Romanee Conti and Grand Echezeaux.
