NZB's 2022 National Weanling Sale is set to take place at Karaka as a physical sale on Friday 17 June.

NZB’s online bidding services will also be available, giving international buyers the chance to access a unique offering of quality weanlings and obtaining first-hand access to a number of New Zealand-based first season sires. In light of the government’s recent announcement, vaccinated Australians will also be able to attend a Karaka Sale for the first time since 2020 without requiring isolation.

A proven source of success, star NZB weanling graduates include back-to-back Group One $220,000 Tarzino Trophy (1400m) winner Callsign Mav (NZ) (Atlante), a $3,000 weanling purchase and Jennifer Eccles (NZ) (Rip Van Winkle), who was crowned NZB Filly of the Year for 2019-20 and won $509,650 in career earnings – more than 101 times her $5,000 purchase price.

Weanlings offered in the Sale will be eligible to enter in the Karaka Million Series featuring two $1 million races available for graduates as two and three-year-olds, plus the $110,000 CollinsonForex Karaka Cup for the duration of their career.
