A sensational racehorse, Alamosa (O'Reilly) won four Group 1 races, first as a juvenile in the Group 1 Diamond Stakes, then as a three-year-old against older horses in both the Group 1 Thorndon Mile and Otaki-Maori WFA Stakes, and later in Australia as a four-year-old in the Group 1 Toorak Handicap.

His superior race performance saw him purchased by a group of high profile NZ breeders and he now stands at Wellfield Lodge where last season, his first season at stud, he served a full book of top class mares at his introductory fee of $27,500.

Waikato Stud will offer a Pins half-brother (click here for video)to Alamosa at Lot 22 on the first day of the Karaka Premier Sale (1 February).

Out of winning Centaine mare Lodore Mystic, the Pins colt is also the half-brother of Sacramento (No Excuse Needed) who placed second in the Group 3 Eclipse Stakes in his juvenile year, while on Sunday (31 January) his classic year will see him contest the $200,000 Karaka 3YO Mile at Ellerslie.

Lot 22's other half-sibling is Sprintcar (Danasinga) who has won no less than seven races in Australia to 2009/10, a clear indication that Lodore Mystic leaves a genuine and sound racehorse.

Born on 21 August, Waikato Stud's bay colt by Pins out of Lodore Mystic (Centaine) represents a successful cross that has produced seven stakes-winners including Group 1 winners Legs and El Segundo.

Alamosa's half-brother has arrived safely at Karaka and has been very popular with prospective buyers in the past two days he has been stabled here.

New Zealand Bloodstock's National Yearling Sales Series (1-8 February) begins at 11am on Monday, 1 February.
